Publicación Applied Research in Mining and Metallurgy International Congress(Ediciones Científicas de la Universidad Católica del Norte, 2025) Valenzuela-Elgueta, Julio Andrés; Malekitehrani, Mohammadali; Cánovas-Vidal, Manuel; Calisaya-Azpilcueta, Daniel AlejandroThe ARMMIC25, held from November 4–7 in Antofagasta, gathered academics, researchers, students, and industry leaders from Chile and abroad. As a leading scientific event in Chile’s Northern Macrozone, it focuses on disseminating advances in applied mining and metallurgical research, tackling global challenges, and fostering innovation and sustainability through collaboration between academia and industry. Organized by the PhD Program in Mining at Universidad Católica del Norte, the congress featured discussions on six key themes: Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Green Mining, Mining 4.0, Materials Science, and Applied Nanotechnology. These topics provided an interdisciplinary platform to explore technical, environmental, and social aspects of modern mining. ARMMIC25 has become a reference event in the sector, promoting academic–industrial alliances and advancing scientific and technological knowledge to benefit both industry and society. The book of abstracts produced from the event reflects this collective commitment to the sustainable and innovative future of mining.Publicación Proceedings of the XV Chilean Conference on Operations Research(Ediciones Científicas de la Universidad Católica del Norte, 2026) González-Ramírez, Rosa Guadalupe; Monardes-Concha, Carlos AlbertoWe are delighted to gather once again under the auspices of the Chilean Institute of Operations Research (ICHIO) for this biennial meeting, academics, practitioners, and students from Chile and around the world, with a shared passion for advancing the field of Operations Research. Since the first OPTIMA held in 1995, our community has grown remarkably, reflecting the increasing importance of optimization, analytics, and decision-making methods across science, industry, and public policy. Operations Research continues to evolve, driven by challenges that demand innovative models, robust algorithms, and impactful applications. Today, our discipline sits at the intersection of mathematical theory, artificial intelligence, and real-world problem-solving, spanning logistics and supply chain design, health care systems, energy networks, agricultural systems, and beyond. OPTIMA 2025 featured 145 talks whose main topics reflect this rich diversity, spanning stochastic and robust optimization, vehicle routing, network design, analytics and AI, healthcare and energy applications, maritime logistics, and multi-objective optimization, among others.
