In this chapter, we refer to relevant issues related to the mental health of migrants in the region, both from their positive aspects, such as well-being, and from their more psychopathological components, including, for example, epidemiological studies on the prevalence of mental disorders. Special emphasis is placed on the search for distinctive elements of the so-called south-south Latin migration, in contrast to the evidence reported on migrations in other regions of the planet. The chapter concludes by incorporating experiences detected in the region of interventions from different levels, ranging from the individual to state policies, emphasizing gaps for both action and research.
