Special emphasis is placed on the search for distinctive elements of the so-called south-south Latin migration, in contrast to the evidence reported on migrations in other regions of the planet. The chapter concludes by incorporating experiences detected in the region of interventions from different levels, ranging from the individual to state policies, emphasizing gaps for both action and research.En este capítulo se abordan cuestiones relevantes relacionadas con la salud mental de las personas migrantes en la región, tanto desde sus aspectos positivos, como el bienestar, como desde sus componentes más psicopatológicos, incluyendo, por ejemplo, estudios epidemiológicos sobre la prevalencia de trastornos mentales. Se pone especial énfasis en la búsqueda de elementos distintivos de la denominada migración latinoamericana sur-sur, en contraste con la evidencia reportada sobre procesos migratorios en otras regiones del mundo.
